| Many thanks to all who made Sierra Nevada Almond Marzen the fastest selling beer in Tap Room history - nearly 50 pints in one hour! This event 's success once again proved you are the finest group of beer aficionados anywhere in the state and showed just why we were one of the very few bars to receive a keg of this rare, great beer. Maybe the only way to top the excitement of that event is to bring out a beer ranked in the top five in the world !! In fact it's so famous most people simply call it by three letters - KBS. This is easily the most award winning American imperial stout every made. It is brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolates and then is cave-aged in oak bourbon barrels for an entire year!! Yes, we will be tapping the famed Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout Saturday, Sept. 11th at 5:30 PM. KBS pours absolutely pitch black color with a slight one finger dark brown head. The taste is gorgeously smooth upfront with a complex medley of flavors featuring notes of warm roasted coffee, expresso, sweet bourbon and vibrant vanilla . The flavor progression here is great; it tells a story from start to finish. The beer is creamy and smooth with soft carbonation. The alcohol (11.2%) |
| provides a nicely warm, slightly dry finish but it never overpowers this well balanced example of the brewer's art.
