A large chunk of that total was because of a $100,000, 30-liter bottle of champagne, but the receipt had other interesting items -- including a single bottle of Amstel Light. Naturally, the beer brand is looking for whoever ordered its product -- and is offering a reward for his name. In an open letter to "Shawn Thornton, Shane Hnidy and the Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins," Amstel says it wants to recognize "great taste" and will provide beer for a July 4 barbecue -- or a Canada Day party -- and the player's private celebration when he has his day with the Stanley Cup. Oh, No, Not Bleue Too Be careful what you get when you order a bottle of "Bleue". Labatt du Canada is now selling Bleue 55, a light beer with 55 calories per 341-ml bottle with 2.4% alcohol (less than so called near beer). Why? Twenty-two percent of all beers sold in Canada re "light". They are also introducing Bleue Lime to cash in on the current lime flavored craze. According to Labatt's this beer"can be enjoyed as-is or used as a cocktail ingredient to add some extra fun." |
