Cantillon Vigneronne This Belgium lambic beer (5% ABV) pours a murky gold with light head as you'd expect from a typical gueze. The nose brings sour under ripe apples, white grain, and hints of yeast. The taste is tart green apple, soft wheat malt, white wine vinegar, and hints of flowers. The carbonation is fairly sedate, with a somewhat light mouthfeel. The finish brings, a bit more fruit with some sour tartness. A solid but example of the style Overall rating:- good
Smutty Nose Finest Kind IPA Nose is just a tad subdued compared to some other more expressive IPA's but still brings a large citric presence. First sip has notes of grapefruit, orange, and some pine in an overall citrus background. Mid-sip comes with bready tones and some sweetness. The piney bitterness returns near the end but there are also some off putting metallic notes that quickly disappear in the clean resiny hop finish. (6.9% ABV) Overall Rating - above average
Speakeasy Payback Porter Inviting roastiness with coffee, a touch of smoke and sweetness comes out in the nose. Taste starts off with a coffee and chocolate, in a sweet background that only hints of hops. Toasted grain and vanilla emerge at mid sip as the coffee/chocolate re-asserts itself. Finish brings lightly bitter espresso/black chocolate flavors. A nicely done porter that packs a fairly high and very well hidden 7.5% ABV Overall rating - very good
