Jack's Abby Copper Legend This is an Oktoberfest / Marzen at 5.7% ABV. Aromas of light sweet malts , fresh dough, and caramel. Taste brings a balanced combination of malt, caramel, lightly toasted bread, and a hint of white pepper. The finish is highlighted by apple, candied sugars, and noble hops. Well made and balanced as it avoids the trap of being a malt bomb as other American marzens often are. Overall Rating: Very Good-
Lawson's Hopzilla This is an 8.7% Imperial IPA. The nose is dominated by hops with strong citrus and pine notes with hints of tangerine. Taste brings grapefruit, pine, hop resins, and light orange. Finish is somewhat harsh and bitter with underlying alcoholic notes. Another good one from Lawson's though not in the upper tier of DIPAs. Overall Rating: Good+
Founders Undergroud Mountain Brown This is an 11.9% ABV Imperial Brown. Strong coffee aromas up front with some chocolate and hints of wood. Flavors are dominated by harsh expresso with alcohol and hints of vanilla, roasted malt, and licorice. Little to no bourbon notes. Interesting and layered but alcohol and coffee overpower. Overall Rating: Above Average+
