| Gigantic Brewing's Ginormous This 8.8% double IPA boasts 100+ IBUs and delivers on it. Opens with smells of tropical fruits with some caramel and bread lingering quietly in the rear. Tastes starts with light fruity sweetness quickly moved aside by zesty citrus pine, pineapple, lemon,and grapefruit. Finish is smooth and not bitter. Well made beer with layers of flavors that will please anyone who enjoys DIPs. Overall Rating: Outstanding |
| Fiddle Head Second Fiddle This double IPA opens with a nose that shouts citrus with orange and lemon highlights. At first sip you'll know it's a special silkly treat. First sip impresses with a blast of citrus, tangerines, and a wave of grapefruit. Next up is pine and resiny hops backed nicely by light malts. The finish brings more grapefruit and a perfect bitterness. At 8.2% ABV this is how a DIPA should be made. Overall Rating: Excellent |
| Finch's Hardcore Chimera Yet another DIPA (9%) for this month's reviews. It's nose is big and juicy featuring pineapple, citrus, dark fruit, and a hint of alcohol, Flavor is dominated by bitter pineapple notes backed lightly toasted bready malt. The finish brings some alcohol with a hoppy bitterness that is clean and snappy. This is perhaps the best brew made by Finch and deserves it popularity. Overall Rating: Very Good |
